First of all, I would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank you” to Alton Ragan and Robert D. McLaughlin and their publisher for sending me a copy of "The Dead Rise First: Rapture Countdown" to review for them. I am truly grateful for this generosity. I really appreciate the time, effort and expense it takes to make a reviewer copy available to me.
“The Dead Rise First: Rapture Countdown” by Alton Ragan and Robert D. McLaughlin is an intriguing novel focused on the end times of the New Testament Church. It details the Second Coming of Christ and leads up to the impending Rapture of the Church. How would you react if you heard a muffled explosion and then everything controlled by computer chips stopped working? Jennifer and Jack take action to protect their family and find some answers. With likeable characters like Y2K Willie, the story unfolds to reveal supernatural events on the kingdom calendar.
Personally, from my study of these coming events, I don’t believe that things will happen this way, but only God knows for certain. I thought it was a bit confusing having two major characters with similar names – Willie and Wilson. But I was able to keep them straight as long as I didn’t get too tired and let my mind wander. Overall, “The Dead Rise First” is an entertaining read.
