New Every Morning

“New Every Morning” by Phil Barfoot and over 100 contributors is an engaging devotional.  As a choir member, I love the choir-related stories that teach me about the unity of the body of Christ.  To be honest, I thought this would be a “fluff” devotional, but this book is like boot camp!  The teaching each day prepares me for spiritual battle, challenges me to walk my talk and encourages me to keep going when I’m almost out of steam!

I will be buying this devotional for all the loved ones on my Christmas gift list this year!
New Every Morning is a beautiful devotional book written by Dr. Phil Barfoot and several other music ministers.  I am privileged to serve under one of these ministers in our church's choir.  I have also had the honor of traveling all over the world with "Uncle Phil" and several of these ministers of music to share the Gospel message through choir presentations in some of the most incredible venues through Celebration Concert Tours International! These men are the real deal and this devotional is set to be my quiet time driver for 2020.




Dr. Phil Barfoot is an internationally known composer, author, and music ministry professional. He has written and created more than 40 major choral collections and musicals, including High Praises, which won a Dove Award for choral collection of the year. He is also the author of The Ultimate Idea Book for Music Ministry, used by more than 7,000 churches and universities in the U. S. and Canada. Phil has created and composed some of the best-selling choral music in Christian music. He is currently the CEO and President of Celebration Concert Tours International, a Franklin, TN based choir company. He is also the CEO and President of CCT Music, a Christian Music Publishing Company. He and his wife, Sheri, have three grown children, Amy, Aaron and Adam. They reside in Franklin, TN.

Homiletics Training: Content

Homiletics .   By definition, “homiletic” is the art of preaching or writing sermons.   I think we would all agree that our pastors study the Bible thoroughly to deliver sermons every Sunday to their congregations.   The beautiful news is that every child of God can use this discipline to study the Bible for themselves. As a member of Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) Leadership, part of my required preparation each week is to prepare homiletics for the passage we are studying.   BSF offers an engaging seminar on how to use this method to study the Scriptures.   I’ve taken the seminar several times under two different leaders and I’ve learned something new every time I’ve attended.   I’ve also been doing the process of homiletics for over ten years and I can say that there is no better teacher than the Holy Spirit in this process!   So keep practicing.   Keep sharing and discussing.   I’ve been posting my homiletics on this blog for quite a while, now.   And I would like to share wit
